History
Incorporated in 1983 the
Boys and Girls Club of Peel
is a leading provider of programs for children and youth supporting healthy physical, educational and social development in the community. The goal is to provide a safe supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life.
Structure
Breakfast for Kids, a program of the Boys and Girls Club of Peel Region, addresses the issue of child hunger by providing nutrition programs to students age 4 through 17 years throughout the region of Peel. We successfully operate over 170 breakfast, lunch and snack programs during the school year and serve more than 14,500 children, managed by over 500 dedicated volunteers. One in ten arrive at school without breakfast, snack, or lunch to sustain them during an entire school day. Providing these students with not only food, but the right foods will enable them to learn, grow, and excel.
